Visualization using OpenDX

This section presents the features of the OpenDX applications developed to visualize the results of the R.I.N.G.S. code calculations.



The '3DrawDX' module

The "3DrawDX" module allows to visualize in 3D the results of the calculations of the R.I.N.G.S. code that are performed for each configuration, ie. each molecular dynamics step

The properties that can be evaluated and outputted in OpenDX format for each configuration using the R.I.N.G.S. code are:

  • The radial distribution functions
  • The neutron structure factors
  • The angle distribution

The "3DrawDX" module allows thus to observe the evolution of the studied property all along the simulation:

The 'StrongDX' module

The "StrongDX" module allows to visualize the strong ring analysis

The "StrongDX" module allows to visualize each step of the algorithm implemented to look for strong rings in a material/molecule.

The 'ClonesDX' module

The "ClonesDX" module allows to visualize and to animate with advanced features the structure studied using the R.I.N.G.S. code

Among the possibilities proposed by the "ClonesDX" modules stand:

  • The 'clones' of the particles if periodic boundary conditions are applied to obtained an idea of the relation(s) between atoms:
    GeS2 =>
    GeS2
  • The highlight of the tetrahedral environments
    Tetrahedra
  • The representation of the free volumes
    Free space
  • The creation of advanced animations

The 'PathDX' module

The "PathDX" module allows to visualize the trajectories of the particles as well as the positions of the barycenters of the rings

  • Trajectories of the particles of highest Mean Square Displacement
    Trajectories
  • Positions of the barycenters of the rings found during the ring statistics analysis *
    Trajectories and barycenter
     and/or 
    Contiguous boxes
* When periodic boundary conditions are applied it is possible to draw the positions of the barycenters of the rings in all the 26 contiguous cells
